CharityCup2019

The IT field within our region is really huge not only in means of its size or in the power and services it provides, but also in cooperative spirit when it comes to various topics. One is ahead of us this year too. In cooperation with a non-governmental organization Úsmev ako Dar, which takes care of families in crisis and has many crisis centers within Slovakia, we decided to start a pilot project, a football tournament called CharITy Cup with one common goal – to help build a new crisis center for families in Košice – Šaca. The new center will serve and help families in need within our region.

The Mini-Football Tournament took place on 27.04.2019 in the Sports and Entertainment Complex on Alejová Street in Košice. For tournament were used official referees from Slovaks football leagues, so they also contributed with their quality to the professional level of the tournament. Game rules were designed regarding the fact that not everyone controls the exact rules of futsal and football. The tournament was so attractive for recreational players. It was a mixed tournament of women and men, which guarantees greater attractiveness for companies and increased space for the Fair Play game. You find the exact RULES HERE.

The situation of many children in Slovakia is far from safe – number of families in crisis or in need is growing, many of the families are due to high unemployment, poverty, homelessness and often insufficient parenting skills at risk of separation of their children from the family. This is something we want to prevent. The majority of our family crisis centers are in Eastern Slovakia, where families face the most complex social situation. 

Vincentínum will give shelter to 4 families (up to 15 children, 20 people in total) and become a centre for providing ambulant social services to many families in the neighbourhood, which is extremely needed. The project focuses on support of the families after overcoming a crisis situation and its aim is stabilization of the family by providing social housing and support social services.
