Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic
we can’t play the football matches we planned for our charitable event,
HOWEVER
Thankfully to YOU we can be in the field every day to help those who need it the most in these difficult times – because families experiencing housing exclusion and homelessness and those with limited access to healthcare belong to the most vulnerable part of our society.
More about how we’re responding to their current urgent needs and how you can continue building the better story with us on a long term basis, here.

CHARITY CUP 2019
FAMILY HOMELESSNESS IN SLOVAKIA
For many families in Slovakia affordable housing options are extremely limited. This is the reason, why many low-income or one-parent families are at risk of homelessness. Some families in crisis find temporary accommodation in family shelters, which help them to prevent separation of their child from the family, but still, their chances for long-term housing solution, such as social housing, are minimal. These are the reasons, why Housing First or other Housing-Led initiatives, which provide social housing and support to families and individuals, need to be further developed to prevent and end homelessness in Slovakia.
HOW CAN THE “CARING HOUSING PROJECT” HELP
“Caring Housing” is the first Housing First initiative in Slovakia dedicated to families. “Caring Housing Project” includes social rental housing and professional support provided to clients by multidisciplinary team. One of the sites, where the project is being developed, is Vincentínum. In the third phase, planned to be finished in 2020-2021, up to 2 new apartments will be built to house families. Apartments have been designed to house bigger families or families with special needs. All families living at “Caring Housing” sites such as Vincentínum, benefit from support provided by integrated multidisciplinary team of professionals (social worker, health care worker, lawyer, psychologist), who are there to respond to their complex needs. We hope, that Caring Housing Project will soon serve as a model of long-term social housing with support services, as well as the best practice in the endeavor of preventing and ending homelessness in Slovakia.
